Fellowes Solicitors LLP is one of the oldest and most respected law firms in Northeast London. Jas H Fellowes founded the firm in 1936 and built up a successful Practice. The firm was renamed R J Fellowes & Son when Ron Fellowes took over from his father in 1983.
Ron’s son Stephen Fellowes became the Senior Partner having joined in partnership with his father in 1994 and the firm was renamed Fellowes & Son. It is now called Fellowes Solicitors LLP, to reflect its limited liability status.
The firm has always practiced from its main office in Walthamstow but over the years also had offices in Chingford and Doughty Street in the heart of London and, most recently, Cheshunt in Hertfordshire.
After practising for around 30 years, Stephen retired at the end of 2022 but still works for the firm as a Consultant Solicitor.
Michael Woolf, having joined the firm in 1996, is the Head of the firm’s busy Criminal Department. In recent years, we have acted for several clients who have been involved in very serious and high-profile cases.
Upon Stephen’s retirement, Marielyne Butler joined Michael as a Partner. Marielyne joined the firm in 2001and is the Head of the well-regarded Conveyancing, Wills and Probate Departments. We continue to act in all types of work associated with these departments with an efficient and experienced team.
